My Thoughts on "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes"

Image
(This is the teaser poster for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes .)    Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes . Of the movies that came out this year involving tyrannical ape kings this year, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the still the best. Nah, just kidding πŸ˜„, this movie is pretty good too. It's pretty well made. But, I would still say that Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is still my favorite of the two movies. You can go read my review on it to know my full thoughts on it. I should also note too that this is the second time that a Planet of the Apes movie has been released the same year as a Godzilla movie. The first time was Dawn of the Planet of the Apes , the second film in the reboot series, in what some people call the "Caesar trilogy" since it was still just a trilogy until this movie, Kingdom came out. It was released in 2014, the same year of course as Godzilla (2014). This is also a post-apocalyptic movie. The reboot Planet of the Apes movies became

My Thoughts on "Twisters πŸŒͺ️"

Image
(This is the poster for Twisters πŸŒͺ️ .)   Well, I finally did it. I finally watched Twisters πŸŒͺ️ . I know kept saying that I was going to do it for 99th post, but things didn't work out that way. We didn't have the money πŸ’΅ to actually watch this movie in theaters when it came out, and we still don't have enough money πŸ’΅. We've been waiting until we had extra money πŸ’΅ to actually see it because this is the kind of movie that does warrant a theatrical viewing. It was a movie that was clearly made to seen in a theater. But, Universal had to go and release it on digital a week or so ago. The movie hadn't even been out for a full month, and yet, the powers that be at Universal decided to release it on digital. Why can't movies stay in theaters for longer than a month? I remember a time when movies used to stay in theaters for half the year before they'd be released on home media. Even when streaming first came, movie still stayed in theaters for much longer th

Prelude to the 2024 Election

Image
(This is the flag of the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ.) The election is coming up soon, and everyone is holding their breath and crossing their fingers 🀞. I thought I would write this to kind of give you the stakes of this particular election because not every voter or potential voter may fully grasp what's at stake in this stake. At the time of me writing this, which Saturday August 17, 2024, I haven't been following the election as closely as I had before a few months ago. I just got tired of all the political BS. All of the political YouTubers whose job it is to talk about politics, talking about every little thing that happens during this election cycle. It just got overwhelming, and I had to click off of it, and stop watching those channels. But, I feel compelled to write this in the running up to the election. I don't know when I'll post this, I might post it this month in August, or I might post a week or so before Election Day. Either way, I feel I should talk about Do

My Thoughts on "Reminiscence"

Image
Foreword :   This was originally written and posted on DeviantART on Thursday September 16, 2021. This was one wasn't saved on either my Drafts app or my Notes app, so I'm pulling it directly from DeviantART. I don't exactly know why I decided to repost my review of Reminiscence now. I think it was because I mentioned it in one of my previous reviews, I think it was my Mars Express review , when I was talking about the aesthetic of the movie and the look of the future cities in that movie that I said, " BTW, speaking of reminiscent, Reminiscence (talk about wasted potential with that movie) is another movie that I reviewed back in 2021 that I should probably repost on here sometime."  And so now I'm here doing it. I guess I wrote that line, I just started thinking about that movie again after three years, and I felt like I should repost it here on my blog if only to write a foreword talking about how my feelings on the movie may have changed and evolved s
