    (This is the flag of the United States of America 🇺🇸.)  🇺🇦🇮🇱🇹🇼 I felt like I should give a bit of an update regarding the foreign aid package for Ukraine 🇺🇦, Israel 🇮🇱, and Taiwan 🇹🇼. The biggest news this week when it comes to foreign policy is that the US Senate 🇺🇸 has passed a $95 billion 💵 military aid package for three key US allies 🇺🇸, Ukraine 🇺🇦, Israel 🇮🇱, and Taiwan 🇹🇼 after Speaker Mike Johnson allowed it to go to a vote in the House, which it passed, and then go to a Senate vote, which was guaranteed to pass. Now all that’s left is for it go to President Biden’s desk and for him to sign it into law, to approve it, which he has said he will, if it hasn’t happened already by now.    (These are the flags of Ukraine 🇺🇦, Israel 🇮🇱, and Taiwan 🇹🇼, the three countries receiving military aid from the United States 🇺🇸.)    This is all despite the efforts of pro-Russian Republicans 🇷🇺 who tried to prevent this ai...

The flag on top is the Israeli flag 🇮🇱 and the one on the bottom is the Iranian flag 🇮🇷.)    What's going in the Middle East between Israel 🇮🇱 and Iran 🇮🇷 is kind of unprecedented because for the longest time, the conventional wisdom about the relationship between these two countries was that despite Iran 🇮🇷 hating Israel 🇮🇱, and saying that they want to destroy Israel 🇮🇱, they would never attack Israel 🇮🇱 directly. That was just their rhetoric, what they tell their people, and what they tell the people in the region, and what they tell the world, to make it seem like they're hardline on Israel 🇮🇱. Even as the Gulf states soften their stances on Israel 🇮🇱, Iran 🇮🇷 would stay the course, and stay tough on Israel 🇮🇱, but they wouldn't actually do anything. It was all talk.   (This is the flag of the United Nations 🇺🇳.)    I don't know if you've heard the news or not, but China 🇨🇳 and Russia 🇷🇺 both vetoed a US-sponsored UN resolution 🇺🇸🇺🇳 to call for an immediate ceasefire to the war in Gaza. This pisses me off because China 🇨🇳 and Russia 🇷🇺 have both been publicly calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and have condemned Israel 🇮🇱 for most of the war. And they've criticized and complained about the US 🇺🇸 using its permanent member status in the UN Security Council 🇺🇳 to veto any resolution that called for an immediate ceasefire.     (These are the flags of Israel 🇮🇱 and Palestine 🇵🇸. The flag on top is the Israeli flag 🇮🇱 and the one on the bottom is the Palestinian flag 🇵🇸.) But, now that the US 🇺🇸 wants a ceasefire, all of a sudden, China 🇨🇳 and Russia 🇷🇺 don't want one, and used their own veto power to veto the US 🇺🇸's proposed resolution. Note:    This was originally written on Thursday November 16, 2023. It is the third and last article that I've written about the Israel-Hamas war 🇮🇱 so far, and will be be the last one I write for a while. It is kind of exhausting and draining to talk about this war specifically, or the Israeli-Palestinian conflict 🇮🇱🇵🇸 as a whole. It's just really depressing. It's pretty interesting looking at these three articles that I've written about the subject, and the things that I predicted that ended up coming true.  Palestinian causalities 🇵🇸 inside Gaza went up, and Israel 🇮🇱's military offensive did create a humanitarian crisis that the international community is still trying to figure how to grapple with.
