The New “Super Mario Galaxy Movie” Trailer Reveals A Lot + A Discussion on the Trailer to “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die”
(This is the poster for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.)
First off, I want to say I’m sorry for the long absence. Well, long absence by my standards. I meant to post this last week, after last Wednesday which is my grandma’s payday (it’s when she gets her money 💵 from Social Security), but our Internet 🛜 got shut off again. We didn’t pay the phone and Internet bill 🛜 in time, so T-Mobile shut us off once again. Just like what happened in September. If you’ll recall, if you’ve been following my blog, I had a long hiatus in September because our Internet 🛜 got shut off. It off for almost two weeks, I couldn’t access the Internet 🛜 whatsoever, unless I want to a place that had free Wi-Fi 🛜, so I couldn’t watch YouTube, I couldn’t check my emails 📧 in Gmail, I couldn’t log into my Barnes & Noble account (because you have to log into your account on the Barnes & Noble website and be active on there, otherwise your password will expire and you’ll have to create a new one.
It’s happened to me several times now since I haven’t actually ordered anything on the website since opening my account), I couldn’t check Wikimedia Commons to see the Picture of the day to see if it was worth downloading to use as a wallpaper later on (for either my laptop 💻 or my phone 📱), and I couldn’t post anything on my blog, or make any edits or changes to any exiting posts on my blog. Everything that I do on the Internet 🛜 on a daily basis, I wasn’t able to do because the Internet 🛜 was off, we had no cell service, we were completely shut out until we could actually make a payment. I ended up having to either watch movies on Blu-Ray 💿 (I strategically picked movies that I had already seen, and didn’t plan on reviewing; although, I am thinking of maybe reviewing Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre since I never wrote a full review of that movie, I just wrote short blurb about it in my 2023 New Year’s Eve Recap), listening to music in my iTunes library, or watch videos that I already downloaded and saved onto my laptop 💻 and my Backup Plus external hard drive.
But, thanks to my aunt making the payment for us, we were able to get the Internet 🛜 back on. That’s what usually happens, she always ends up paying it for us because when the payment is due, my grandma never has enough to pay it. That’s why we’re hoping for my dad to get that money 💵 from Keller & Keller so that we can pay off all the bills, and get caught up on all of them, so we won’t have to worry about stuff like this again. As if having the Internet 🛜 off for almost a week and a half wasn’t enough, I also got sick 🤧 in the first half of September. It was something my grandma picked up while she was traveling to and from Albuquerque, taking my other grandma to take care of some errands or get her free casino gifts 🎁, I’m not sure, but whatever it was, I got from her sick 🤧, and I was sick 🤧 for several weeks.
So, I still didn’t end up posting anything in the first half of September because I was sick 🤧, and I didn’t feel like writing anything. But, despite those delays and setbacks, I was able to able to pump out four posts in the month of September. My first post of that month was my review of Nobody (2021). I know because I spend the entire first half of that review ranting about how I was sick 🤧, and I still wasn’t 100% better, but I still felt better enough to finally write something and get it out there for the month of September, and ranting about politics. That was a week after the Charlie Kirk murder, and that was still the talk of the nation, that event was still on people’s minds, and people were talking about how it was going to reshape American politics 🇺🇸 from then on out.
Well, here we are, two months later, and just as I predicted, no gives a shit about it anymore. The whole country and world has collectively moved on. Even Charlie Kirk’s own widow, Erika Kirk has seemingly moved on, not at all acting like a woman ♀︎ who just lost her husband a couple of months ago, what with how she and JD Vance shared a rather intimate hug with each other in front of live TV, and cameras 📷, for the whole world to see; sparking rumors that the two are having an affair, or are thinking of having an affair, since Vance is not exactly happy with his wife, Usha Vance being Indian 🇮🇳 (as in Indian 🇮🇳 from India 🇮🇳, for any Natives who might be reading this) and not being a Christian ✝️; a lot of people think Vance wants to trade his Indian Hindu wife 🇮🇳🕉️ for a white, blonde Christian woman 👩🏼✝️ ripe for the taking. It’s hard to stay focused on Charlie Kirk, when you had a government shutdown that lasted 43 days, the longest one in American history 🇺🇸, and the Epstein scandal flaring back up due to the House coming back into session, and voting to release the Epstein files, and these emails 📧 between Epstein and Trump, and Epstein and Michael Wolff, a journalist and staunch critic of Trump came to light and exposed a lot of things.
It’s hard to still keep talking about Charlie Kirk, when there were rumor swirling around that Trump gave Bill Clinton a blowjob 😱, a rumor that, so far, doesn’t seem to be true and there reasons to doubt, even if a lot of people seem to want it to be true, especially those who don’t like Trump, and think he’s a creepy degenerate weirdo; which he is, but come on, he’s not secretly bisexual or bi-curious, or whatever; BTW, to any bisexuals or bi-curious folks out there, I’m not trying to say bisexuality or bi-curiosity is not degenerate, far from it, it’s completely normal and acceptable to be bi or bi-curious; all I’m saying that a lot of anti-Trump people view Trump as a degenerate, depraved weirdo who might be a pedophile, due to his close proximity to Jeffery Epstein, and his close relationship to Jeffery Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and the fact that he kept trying to hide the Epstein files for months, despite all evidence pointing to the fact that his name is all over them; he may or may not be a pedophile, but he is certainly a rapist, an adjudicated rapist; so, he is a creep, but how creepy he is, is yet to be determined.
Even if the rumor about Trump and Clinton having sex proves to not be true, the jokes and memes that came out of it are funny 😆, especially the nickname that people starting giving Trump. They called him: Donica Lewinsky 🤣. People were saying that’s reason why he called that one spending bill, the Big Beautiful Bill, because he was actually talking about about Bill Clinton, and his penis 🤣. I saw one comment on Double Toasted’s video about this rumor that said that Trump would have to give a press conference where he’d have to say, “I did not have sexual relations with that president” 🤣. People were having fun with this, which is why I think a lot of people wished that it was true, no matter how shocking and disturbing it is to think that our current president once had sex (even it was just oral sex) with one of our past presidents 🤮, especially Donald Trump, one of the ugliest men ♂︎ alive. No body ever wants to picture him having sex with anyone, especially with how small his penis supposedly is. And the mental image of him going down on Clinton is enough to send shivers down your spine 😬, it’s too much to bear.
But, if you read my review, you’ll know that I was pretty unsympathetic towards Charlie Kirk and what happened to him on that faithful September day (he died on September 10, 2025, the day before the 24th anniversary of 9/11). My sentiment was, “Good riddance. One less bigot in the world is good for everyone,” even if there are a dozen people ready to take Kirk’s place and continue doing what he did, including his old rival, Nick Fuentes, who has gained much greater influence in the GOP and the American Right 🇺🇸 in general since Kirk’s death. It’s like Fuentes filled in the power vacuum that Kirk left, and his rise to greater prominence and influence has caused a rift within the Republican Party, with one side wanting to the party to go more in Fuentes’s direction and be a more overly racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic, antisemitic, pro-Nazi and pro-authoritarian party, and one side wanting the party to be more inclusive to be people of other races, genders, religions, and even sexualities. There are a lot of gay Republicans ⚣, a lot of closeted gay Republicans ⚣. That’s why Grindr always crashes every time Republicans have an event somewhere. The app is overloaded with traffic from all these closeted gay Republicans ⚣ using it to look for a quick hookup while they’re attending these events.
It only happens when Republicans are in town, and never when Democrats are in town, because these gay Republicans ⚣ are ashamed of who they are, and refuse to accept it, but still have those feelings inside of them, the desire to be with other men ♂︎ that they continue to repress in all other facets of their lives. So, they need apps like Grindr to find some of release, and these Republican events, these public gatherings provide a perfect excuse. The mentality of a lot of these guys ♂︎ seems to be, “I hate that I’m gay ⚣, I wish I was straight ⚤, so that I could be more line with my religion and fit in more with my party. But, goddammit, I still want some dick.” Whereas gay Democrats ⚣ accept who are and own it, and thus have no need for Grindr’s services. They want the Republican Party to be a more diverse party, and accepting of other groups so long as they hold conservative values or right-wing beliefs, but that is incompatible with what the party has become. The Republican Party has become an extremist party, and a lot of the very same people who are decrying Fuentes’s growing influence on the party, and the Heritage Foundation’s seeming endorsement of him, are the ones who enabled this and led the party to this point, where it’s starting fracture from the inherent contradictions underlying it.
It’s funny that I mention all this because there are in fact rumors that Fuentes himself is gay ⚣, and like a lot of Republicans and right-wingers who are gay ⚣, is in the closet. I know a lot of Groypers like to date and have sex with trans women ⚧ because they view that as being better than being with biological women ♀︎. They’re so misogynistic that they’re accidentally pro-trans 🏳️⚧️, they’re accidentally trans allies 🏳️⚧️. And to be fair, there are plenty of men ♂︎ who date trans women ⚧ who identify as straight ⚤, you don’t necessarily have to identify as gay ⚣ to be with a trans person 🏳️⚧️, in fact it makes more sense if they don’t. Gay men ⚣♂︎ generally want to be with other men ♂︎, as in cisgender men ♂︎, men ♂︎ who identify as men ♂︎ rather than trans 🏳️⚧️. The most feminine they’ll go is femboys ♂︎, which are not the same thing as trans 🏳️⚧️, and don’t let anyone tell you any different; I know it gets confusing because a lot of trans porn 🏳️⚧️🔞 gets labeled as “femboy porn ♂︎🔞,” and vis versa. We know that Mike Johnson is something because he has a Grindr account. It was confirmed after the shutdown began back in October, and even some of his messages on Grindr. Whether he’s gay ⚣ or bi, I don’t know, and it’s not for me to say. But, we do know that he has a Grindr account, and at the very least, uses it to flirt with men ♂︎.
Whether or not, he actually engages in sexual activity with men ♂︎, we don’t really know that either, unless a male escort ♂︎, or a male prostitute ♂︎, or just some random gay guy ⚣♂︎ who isn’t a sex worker but still hooks up with other men ♂︎ for one night stands comes out of the woodwork, and says, “Yeah, I had sex with Mike Johnson.” We should’ve all known that Mike Johnson wasn’t as pure as he tries to make it seem because he monitors his son’s porn activity 🔞, and has his son monitor his. What kind of weirdo does that? My dad and I never did that with each other, even he found out I was watching porn 🔞 when I was 15. Please don’t flag this post, Blogger. This post isn’t meant for kids, it’s meant for adults. Sure, it’s about a trailer to an animated kid’s movie, but just because that’s the topic doesn’t mean that this post is for kids; it isn’t. Mario is for all ages anyway, it’s not just for kids, it’s for adults. In fact, I’d argue, there are more adults that like Mario than actual kids. I could see Lindsay Graham being a closeted gay man ⚣♂︎, like of all the Republican senators that could be closeted gay men ⚣♂︎, he’s the one that I could easily believe is one. Like, if you were to ask me, “Which Republican senator do you think is secretly gay ⚣?” 9 times out of 10, I’d answer Lindsay Graham.
I’m still hoping that I can review Nobody 2 sometime in the near future. I already created the post in Blogger drafts, and it’s ready to go. I did not get it when I went down to Albuquerque with my grandma and my dad. We just focused on buying the essentials, the stuff we need to keep the house in order, and we bought very little of the fun things we wanted; except for my dad, who got to buy his weed; that’s all he ever wants to go down to Albuquerque for, to buy weed, because he’s a stoner, and weed is expensive; the cheapest cannabis products are like $20 💵, and with that recent continuing resolution (CR) passing in the Senate and the House, healthcare premiums will go up, and cannabis will become even more expensive than it already is because the price of cannabis is heavily dependent on the price of healthcare; meaning my dad might be priced out of cannabis unless he gets his lawsuit money 💵. And even though, I won some money 💵 at the casino 🎰, I spent some of it on buying food, and it’s looking like I won’t have to buy it on my own with my own money 💵; okay, it wasn’t all my own since my grandma gave me $20 💵 to add to the $8 💵 I had, but she gave it to me to use for whatever I wanted.
So, if I don’t get it anytime soon this week or the next week, I’ll just add it to my Christmas list 🎄, and hope that my aunt gets it for me. But, I will review that movie, I promise. I reviewed the first movie, it’s only fair that I review the second one, plus, I reviewed one of the director’s previous movies, The Night Comes for Us, just to prepare for Nobody 2. I don’t want all that work to go to waste. Luckily, our Internet 🛜 this time was only off for about three days. It went off on Thursday November 13, 2025, and we restored it on Monday November 17, 2025, again, thanks to my aunt paying it for us. Without her, we wouldn’t be able to keep the Internet 🛜 and cell service on, and I wouldn’t be able to keep this blog going. So, hopefully, my dad can get his lawsuit money 💵 and then we get caught up on all the bills so that this won’t keep happening to us. But, in the meantime, I’m going to keep writing and posting as much stuff on this blog as I can, and I’m going to download as many of my favorite YouTube videos as I can so that I can have something to watch for in case the Internet 🛜 gets shut off again.
(This is the logo for Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. There is no official poster at this time. It’s just like Boy Kills World, how it didn’t have a poster until it finally officially released in theaters.)
One of those videos was the trailer to an upcoming movie called Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. It’s an apocalyptic sci-fi action comedy movie directed by Gore Verbinski, the director of the first three Pirates of the Caribbean 🏴☠️ movies (the good ones), Rango, and Mouse Hunt 🐁 to name but a few. The trailer named the American remake 🇺🇸 of The Ring, the Japanese horror film 🇯🇵 about a cursed video tape 📼 that has a ghost girl 👻♀︎ with long hair that covers her entire face inside of it who will literally climb out of the TV 📺 and kill you after 7 days if you watch it…unless you transfer the curse to someone else by making them watch the tape 📼 instead. I haven’t seen any of the Ring movies, the American ones 🇺🇸 or the Japanese ones 🇯🇵, but I know they did a crossover with the Grudge movies (which I also haven’t seen) called Sadako vs. Kayako, which I am thinking of watching and reviewing on this blog someday, even if I haven’t watched any of the other Ring or Grudge movies, the American ones 🇺🇸 or the Japanese ones 🇯🇵; yes, I know the Japanese Grudge movies 🇯🇵 are called Ju-on, but you know what I mean.
But apparently, Gore Verbinski directed the first American Ring movie 🇺🇸, which is cool I guess. I heard those movies are pretty scary, I know I’ve been too chicken 🐓 to watch them for the longest time, but I am willing to watch Sadako vs. Kayako because that one isn’t as scary as the other Ring or Grudge movies, even if it apparently isn’t as satisfying or fulfilling as Freddy vs. Jason was, and Sadako vs. Kayako is essentially the Japanese equivalent to Freddy vs. Jason 🇯🇵. But, it is still crazy that it even exists, it’s this weird little oddity that sounds like an April Fool’s joke but is actually real (which is because it was, it started out as an April Fool’s joke and then it became a real movie). Someone actually thought it was a good idea to have these two vengeful ghost ladies 👻♀︎ fight each other. Sadako vs. Kayako, even if it isn’t the greatest movie out there, even if it isn’t the best film in either franchise, should still be preserved for future generations to see and learn from.
The last movie that Gore Verbinski directed before Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die was A Cure for Wellness, and that movie came out in 2016, and flopped at the box office and received mixed reviews for critics. So, this is his first movie in 10 years (pretty much a whole decade), since the movie comes out in February next year, it’s his big directorial return, his comeback movie…hopefully. Well, technically it’s a 2025 movie since it premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 28, 2025. So like Boy Kills World, We Bury the Dead 🧟♂️, and Americana 🇺🇸 (2023), Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is another one of those movies that premiered at a film festival one year, and won’t get a wide release until another year later or so. Americana 🇺🇸 was made in 2023, and barely got a wide release this year, in 2025, almost two years after it premiered at South by Southwest.
My suspicions about that film were correct that it would bomb at the box office 💣, which it did, it bombed hard 💣; making only ~$500,000 💵 against a budget of $9 million 💵 😬. I attribute most of its failure to the growing public backlash against Sydney Sweeney, who was the main star of that film; she’s top billed. A lot of people just don’t like Sydney Sweeney anymore, and have completely turned against her because of those commercials she did for American Eagle 🇺🇸🦅, the Great Jeans 👖 ones, which many people interpreted as being a promotion of white supremacy and eugenics, due to the pun of jeans 👖 with genes 🧬, and the imagery of Sydney Sweeney being a blonde white woman 👩🏼 with blue eyes, and the revelation that she is or was a registered Republican, at least until 2024, some of her family members or associates of her family are MAGA supporters 🇺🇸, wearing red hats and everything.
Sydney Sweeney really haven’t addressed any of these controversies head-on (apply directly to the forehead 😁, sorry 😕, I couldn’t resist, can you blame me?), and has instead largely ignored them, hoping that people will just look past that, and just focus on her good looks and her acting abilities, which to be fair, most critics have it seems; as, even if her most recent movies have been financial failures, they’ve all been received well by critics, with most of the praise being for her performances in those movies. But, most of the general public seemingly hasn’t as most of the big movies she was in this year flopped. Ever since those commercials dropped, everything she’s been in has been a flop, obviously you had Americana 🇺🇸, which is technically a 2023 movie but barely got a wide release this year, that was a huge flop, and then most recently, she had Christy (2025), which premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival on September 5, 2025, and then was released theatrically on November 7, 2025, the same day as Predator: Badlands, and also flopped hard. That movie has only $2 million 💵 against a $15 million budget 💵, it opened at #11 at the box office on its opening weekend, not even making it to the top 10, and then dropped to #23 by its second week. It’s been classified by Box Office Mojo as one of the top 12 worst openings for a new release that opened in over 2,000 screens.
It was pretty much her Smashing Machine, since she plays a lesbian female boxer ⚢♀︎ named Christy Martin, and it was like her big physical transformation; growing from a cute blonde girl 👩🏼 with big boobs to being a tough looking brunette, who almost looks flat-chested (or at least, her boobs are not as emphasized), and looks completely unglamorous. She’s not even a natural blonde 👩🏼, she’s actually a brunette in real life. She just dyed her hair blonde 👩🏼, and adopted that persona as being the “cute, sexy blonde 👩🏼”; the “Marilyn Monroe of this generation,” or even just the “Gen Z Margot Robbie,” which she isn’t even that; she tried to be the Gen Z Margot Robbie, but failed miserably, as we’re seeing that play out in real time. And like, Dwayne Johnson’s The Smashing Machine, it received mixed to positive reviews, with most of the praise being towards Sweeney’s performance, as well as the performances of the other actors like Ben Foster, Merritt Weaver, and Chad L. Coleman. But, the actual story, the actual narrative the movie’s trying to tell is not very good, it’s just basic run-of-the-mill biopic stuff we’ve seen a thousands before and isn’t special anymore. It seems Christy (2025) and The Smashing Machine (2025) have the same problem where the acting is good, and the lead actors deliver transformative performances where they really disappear in the role, but the actual story is weak, and the script is bad. That’s why I say, Christy (2025) is Sydney Sweeney’s Smashing Machine.
If that wasn’t enough though, she did an interview with GQ a couple of weeks ago, while promoting Christy (2025) because GQ decided to put her on the cover of their Men of the Year ♂︎ issue, where she questioned about the American Eagle 🇺🇸🦅 commercials, and she failed miserably. She refused to give a clear answer over whether or not she condemns racism or white supremacy, or whether she saw the commercials she did for American Eagle 🇺🇸🦅 as promoting white supremacy and eugenics. Which all of her critics took as her admitting that she is a racist, she is a white supremacist, she does believe in eugenics, and she’s a right-winger; likely still a registered Republican, and a supporter of Donald Trump. This interview ruined her image more than anything else, more than the actual commercials themselves. And there are rumors now that she’s in a feud with her Euphoria co-star, Zendaya over political differences, and the two actresses refuse to do interviews with each other, or do any sort of publicity with each other over Euphoria Season 3, which has had all sorts of production issues and has been delayed so many times.
Sydney Sweeney, at this point, has become the female Jared Leto ♀︎, in terms of her being this actor who is overwhelmingly disapproved of and rejected by the general public, and all of her movies are flopping at the box office, and yet, somehow, she still gets work. At least, Sydney Sweeney isn’t as much of a creepy weirdo as Jared Leto, she’s just kind of a racist (maybe, allegedly), and at least she still has the critics largely on her side, whereas Jared Leto has almost no one on his side except maybe the producers and studio executives who still think it’s a good idea to cast him in movies for some reason. Things don’t bode well for The Housemaid or The Devil Wears Prada 2, if even those movies weren’t enough to shake off the controversy and hatred towards her. I still can’t believe they’re making a Devil Wears Prada sequel, like why are they making a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada?
There’s a bunch of movies that have gotten sequels that didn’t need them, a few of them even came out this year (I’m looking at you, Freakier Friday 🫵), but if there was any movie that I would say absolutely did not need a sequel, it would be The Devil Wears Prada. The last video that I saw from Southern political commentator, Christina Talks—which was actually about the box office failure of Christy (2025), and basically mocking Sydney Sweeney over it—had a comment on talking about how degenerate Hollywood is (surprised that person didn’t go all the way and just call it “Hollyweird,” but that’s more of a right-winger thing to say), and how the only movie they’re looking forward to is The Devil Wears Prada 2. I wonder that person will feel once they learn that she’s in that movie too 🤔. I’m not going to link that video in question because I don’t watch Christina Talks anymore, I don’t like her anymore, and I don’t want to support her by linking her stuff in any of my posts. Sorry 🤷♂️.
I got way off track talking about Sydney Sweeney, let me get back to talking about Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. It stars Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, Tom Taylor, Juno Temple, Dino Fetscher, Anna Acton, Asim Chaudhry, Daniel Barnett, and Dominique Maher. I’ve heard of at least, four of those actors, Sam Rockwell, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, and Juno Temple. The rest of them, I have no idea who they are, I haven’t seen them in anything, and if I have, I don’t recall. The movie’s basically about this guy ♂︎ who appears to be a crazy homeless guy ♂︎, but claims to be from the future. He goes into a restaurant in LA, and tries to recruit the patrons to help him stop an AI from taking over the world. Of course, no one believes him at first, they just think he’s some crazed homeless guy ♂︎ babbling about nonsense that isn’t real, but then it turns out that what he was saying was true, and that he was actually sent from the future, and there is an AI trying to take over the world. So at least, five of them join him. There’s also a giant goat 🐐 or a giant ungulate of some kind for some reason, I don’t know what that has to do with an AI, but whatever. Of course, it turns out to be real, and the guy ♂︎ turns out to be right. None of these movies that have this kind of set up, where a character is babbling on something crazy happening, and the other characters don’t believe them and just think they’re crazy, make the skeptical characters right, they always make the crazy person right.
Even, if it would be more interesting, at least to me, if the crazy person wasn’t right, and were in fact just crazy. Like, I thought Knock at the Cabin would’ve been a lot more interesting if there wasn’t an apocalypse going on and if the four horsemen? I guess you could call them, that’s basically what they are, really were just crazy home invaders, but did believe that the world was ending and the only way to stop it is to hold this family hostage and force them to kill one another. It’s why I got turned off to Bugonia, and why I refuse to watch it now, knowing the big “twist” that Emma Stone’s character really was an alien 👽 and Jesse Plemons’s character was right all along. I think that movie would’ve been so much better if she wasn’t an alien 👽 and Jesse Plemons really was a crazy conspiracy theorist who was holding this woman ♀︎, this CEO, hostage for no reason. And similarly, I think that this film would’ve been more interesting if it turned out that Sam Rockwell’s character wasn’t actually from the future, there was no AI apocalypse, and he really was just a crazy man ♂︎ talking nonsense, holding these people hostage for no reason. Maybe, it’s just because I’ve become a much more skeptical person as I’ve gotten older and I’ve grown to dislike conspiracy theories and conspiracy theorists because all the real world damage they’ve done, but I often find the idea of the supernatural or sci-fi thing not being real more interesting than it actually being real in movies. Especially when they have that setup of, “Is it real or is it not real? Is this person crazy or are they not crazy?” I really can’t explain why, that’s just where I’m at right now.
The movie looks like a quirkier version of The Terminator, a more gonzo version of The Terminator. Or Terminator 2, since Terminator 2 has pretty much the exact same plot as The Terminator, only with more people, and with the goal being to actually stop Skynet from destroying the world and taking over, rather than just stop a Terminator from killing someone associated with the human resistance in the past; or the present, for the characters from the present time that ultimately help the time traveler ⏱️ save the day, whether it’s Kyle Reese from The Terminator or the good Terminator from Terminator 2. It’s The Terminator, but bigger. It’s a time travel story ⏱️ about someone traveling back in time ⏱️ to stop an AI from taking over the world, and enlists the help of someone or some people from the present to help him stop it.
It looks like it could be a fun movie. My biggest worry about it is that it will be one of those movies that’s just weird for the sake of being weird. There’s a lot of movies try to get by on just weird and being gonzo, and I personally don’t like that. I like my movies to make some sort of sense, and to have actual something more to them than just being weird. If your movie’s just weird, and it has nothing else going for it, it just makes it look shallow, and like it’s desperate. It’s desperate for attention, and it’s hoping that critics will like it just because it’s weird and doesn’t make sense, not even caring what the general audience think. That’s why I don’t like Wes Anderson’s movies, they just try to get by on being quirky, and I’m sick of it. And this looks like a movie that tries to be weird, that tries to be off-color, and tries to be gonzo. Sam Rockwell’s character even says, “You’re in for a really weird night,” so this movie is trying to be weird. But, it might go too far with it, and it will just be weird for the sake of being weird.
I’m also worried the humor won’t land the way they want it to, because while there are some funny jokes in this trailer, like the part where Sam Rockwell’s character is in the restaurant trying to recruit the patrons, and one of them calls him “homeless,” because he looks homeless (there’s no two ways about it), and he tells him, “Fuck you too, I come from a nightmare apocalypse, this is the height of fucking fashion,” showing them his clear plastic or latex jacket; the same kind that Zora wore in Blade Runner before Deckard shoots her. I think that joke works because he does look like a homeless guy ♂︎, and that would probably most people’s reaction to seeing him for the first time. He’s wearing a beanie, he’s wearing a clear jacket, he’s got circuit boards, wires, cables, and tubes strapped to his body, he has a gross looking beard, he looks dirty, he looks like he hasn’t bathed in years, he looks like he probably smells like piss, especially since it looks like he’s wearing some kind of catheter attached to his suit that always apart of his time travel ⏱️ so that he can pee without taking the suit off (kind of like what astronauts 👨🚀 use to pee without taking their suits off), and one of the tubes broke and it’s just leaking some kind of liquid that looks like urine. So, he’s leaving a trail of piss everywhere he goes. He looks absolutely disgusting 🤮, and you would not trust this guy ♂︎ at all, I certainly wouldn’t. But, the other jokes or little bits of humor that they have this trailer fall flat.
The movie’s supposed to be partly a comedy, that’s pretty obvious just going by the trailer, and if the humor doesn’t work, if it’s not funny, then it will have failed at being at least of one of the things it’s trying to be. We’ll see if it can deliver on the action because it’s also supposed to be an action movie. The only thing worse than a bad comedy, is a bad action movie, or an action movie with lame action scenes. But, I suppose it’s maybe slight better than a bad comedy because a bad action movie can at least be unintentionally funny with how incompetent it is, with how inept it is, whereas a bad comedy has nothing to fall back on, nothing to salvage it. If a comedy isn’t funny, and it doesn’t make anyone laugh 😑, then it’s failed, there’s nothing that can pull it back from the depths, it’s staying at rock bottom. I’m worried that the humor in this film, will not only be not funny, but it also be stupid, annoying and obnoxious, like that Y2K movie from last year. Combine that with the movie trying to be as weird and quirky as possible, and you got a bad viewing experience. Hopefully, it is funny, and it does actually work, but things are not looking too good from the trailer, as far as the humor goes.
I also don’t like the fact that the movie’s about AI. I’m starting to feel AI fatigue, not just in real-life, but in movies as well. I’m tired of every other science fiction movie being about AI, or action movie, or whatever being about AI in someway. Not only that, but they always to have a message, and they’re usually pretty heavy handed with that message, and it’s always same message: AI is bad, AI is going to kill us, or it’s going to take over the world. I mean, AI is bad, I don’t like it, but it’s not bad for a lot of the reasons movies say that it’s bad. Most movies that portray AI as this world-ending threat, they always make it like Skynet, and the AI we have today, even the strongest and most dangerous AI we have today, is not Skynet. That’s all just hype from the tech bros, from the tech billionaires in Silicon Valley, to woo investors, like “Ooh, AI’s going to become just like the movies. It’s going to become Skynet, or HAL 9000, please give us your money 💵 now 🤑.”
And the only reason they hype it up like that is because movies always portrayed AI as not only being this omniscient, near godlike entity, but also being malevolent and being capable of destroying the entire world. And as bad as AI is, and as much damage as it is doing to our society and even to our planet (since the servers that run and contain AI eat up a lot of electricity ⚡️ and inflict other environmental damage), it is not that. They want you to think that, so you’ll think AI is inevitable, and to entice you to give them your money 💵. Because only these men ♂︎ can be trusted to use AI responsibly, and prevent that worse case scenario 😉. That’s how they get you, that’s the game they’re playing by hyping up AI and even fear-mongering about AI. And these AI companies want, first and foremost, to be profitable, even though none of them are. That’s why it’s a bubble 🫧, and why that bubble 🫧 will burst pretty soon if it hasn’t already. They usually only do this to show just how topical they are, and with the times they are.
That’s why I hope the next Bond movie isn’t about AI, not just because Mission: Impossible did it first, but because it’s become so trite to talk about AI in movies, to make AI the main threat in an action movie or a thriller movie. And by the time the next Bond movie does come out, AI might not even be a relevant topic anymore, and it will just look outdated and behind the times. It’ll be like making a Bond movie about cryptocurrency or about NFTs, god forbid 🙄. So please, Amazon, please Denis Villeneuve (if you’re still going to direct it), please Steven Knight, don’t make Bond 26 about AI, I beg you. Do something else, anything else, anything but AI, please. If you make the next Bond movie about AI, or you use AI at any point during the production, I will not go see it. I won’t watch it, I won’t support it, nothing, that movie and the Bond franchise from then on out will be dead to me; and I haven’t really started watching it, the only Bond movie I’ve watched in full is Spectre (I saw it in theaters when it came out); but I want to get more into Bond, I want to watch the other films, and the new ones that Amazon is going to be putting out, but not if they’re about AI or used AI in the actual filmmaking process. I’m sick of AI 😠.
I’m not even sure if I want to see this movie, knowing that it’s about AI. It seems like one of those things where Gore Verbinski saw that AI was big, and AI was everywhere, it was the talk of the tech world and the financial sector, all the big AI companies are doing well on the stock market…at least for now, and said, “Hey, I’m going to make a movie that’s really topical and about the current moment, and will warn people about the future.” But again, he seems to mostly be doing the Hollywood version of AI, the movie version of AI, which as we’ve seen, is nothing like the real thing. The real thing is a lot lamer than that. I’m also concerned that the movie will be heavy handed and trite with the other social commentary that it looks like it’s going to attempt. Like, “Ooh, people are on their smartphones 📱 too much! People use social media too much!” Like we haven’t heard anyone make that observation or criticism a thousand times before 😒. Because the trailer shows a bunch of people glued to their smartphones 📱, and then they start pursuing the good guys while holding their smartphone 📱, and there’s this pyramid symbol that appears on their phones 📱 when this happens. So, it’s like the AI is literally hypnotizing people and turning them into mindless zombies, and those are the enemies that the heroes have to fight before getting to sub bosses, and then the final boss, which is the AI itself. I wonder if this going to be one of those movies where they kill the mindless zombie people, or they find a way to defeat them without actually killing them since they’re all innocent people and they don’t the heroes to kill innocent people even if they are being mind controlled by the villain(s).
Usually, in movies, they’ll say that the people being mind-controlled are already dead, or there’s no way to save them, so that the audience won’t feel bad about the heroes killing them. But, will this movie do that? Probably. If this movie were really ballsy, they’d just have the heroes kill the mind-controlled people regardless if they could saved or not. Like, maybe they could have them mow down a bunch of them, and then they find out they can be freed from the AI’s control. But, then again, that would kind of be too similar to the joke in The Suicide Squad, where Bloodsport 🩸 and Peacemaker unknowingly kill a bunch of Corto Maltese freedom fighters in a petty dick measuring contest to see who can kill the most people and look the coolest while doing it; they assume that they’re bad guys, and even King Shark 🦈 (AKA Nanaue) and Polka-Dot Man get on the action and kill some of them too, until Rick Flag tells them that they’re rebels fighting against the Luna regime, and they feel kind of bad about it.
Maybe, they could have them kill them, without even really acknowledging whether or they could be saved, and then people on the Internet 🛜 can call them murderers for killing innocent people who could’ve and should’ve been saved. But, it seems like that’s what this movie does, because while writing this section, I saw an early review of this movie (it was a guy ♂︎ who saw it at Fantastic Fest), and he said that it does gets heavy handed and preachy with its messaging, which is kind of dealbreaker for me if I’m being honest. It seems like this movie will just all the things sci-fi movies that tackle AI, or smartphone 📱 and social media usage do, only it will try hide behind quirkiness and probably intense and extreme violence. This looks like an R rated film, they say “fuck” a lot in this trailer, and there’s blood 🩸, it’s a red band trailer without them actually calling it a red band trailer. So, definitely not a PG-13 movie.
Sam Rockwell’s character doesn’t even have a name. He’s just called the Man from the Future ♂︎. I wonder if it’ll be one of those things where his name will be a mystery for most of the film, and then one of the other characters (one of the five people he recruited at the restaurant) asks him what his name is, and he finally tells them. Maybe it’ll be one of those things where he’ll tell them before he dies because I have a strong feeling that he’s probably going to die before the movie end. He’ll have a heroic sacrifice, or he’ll be killed by the AI, along with that redhead 👩🦰, who I can’t figure out actually plays her. None of the actors listed in the cast, and their pictures match the girl ♀︎’s face, and yet she’s featured prominently in the trailer and is one of the five people that the Man from the Future ♂︎ recruits to fight the AI and its army of smartphone zombies 📱. She and the Man From the Future ♂︎ are in that room with what I assume is the physical form of the AI, and they’re up against a way, covered in blood 🩸, with this other stuff sticking to the next to them, all of sharp metal objects (like nails), and it looks like they’re about to die in that part; and they probably do, if this movie really is as bold and gonzo as the trailer wants us to think it is. So, the Man From the Future ♂︎ will probably die, and it’ll be up to the other characters to stop it. Probably Haley Lu Richardson’s character, Ingrid, who’s like one of three other characters who actually has a name listed so far. They haven’t told us the names of the other six characters in the name. They not disclosed the names of the characters the other six main cast members play.
I have a feeling that most of the other main characters, the other four people who the Man From the Future ♂︎ recruited, will all end up dying, including the Man From the Future ♂︎ himself, and Ingrid will be the final girl ♀︎, and she’ll being the one to defeat the AI. It shows her in that same room where the Man From the Future ♂︎ and the redhead 👩🦰 were in, with that swirling vortex of wires and cables, which is again, supposed to be the AI in its final form, and she looks all nervous, like she’s about to have a final confrontation with this thing. This might end up being more of her movie than Sam Rockwell’s. Kind of like how Sinners is really more of Miles Carton’s movie than it is Michael B. Jordan’s, like it is Sammie’s story, not the Smokestack Twins’. Michael B. Jordan was just the big name to draw in audiences, but really it’s somebody else’s story. We’re just seeing through the eyes of his characters, the Smokestack Twins.
I feel like it’ll sort of be like that but with Haley Lu Richardson and Sam Rockwell in this movie. Sam Rockwell will be the draw, but it’ll mostly be Haley Lu Richardson’s movie, and we’re seeing her character, Ingrid’s story through the eyes of the Man From the Future ♂︎, and everyone else is just a supporting player in that story. Everything and everyone is centered around her, and it’s ultimately up to her to save the day, and prevent the apocalypse. Kind of like how it was ultimately up to Sarah Connor to defeat the T-800 in The Terminator. The present day character is the one who defeats the killer robot or the evil AI in the end, not the time traveler ⏱️ from the future. I say this because of the five characters the Man From the Future recruits, she’s featured the most prominently, like we see her boyfriend and everything, and she’s the final character we see before that short clip of the Man From the Future ♂︎ eating the Snowball and Twinkie, and the clip at the very end of the trailer of that giant goat 🐐 or whatever that creature is.
Her boyfriend’s even the one who says the title, “Good luck, have fun, don’t die,” to which she says, “Excuse me?” Why is this movie called Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die anyway? You know, other than to be quirky, and have a funny title to show that the movie’s quirky and weird. There’s nothing about that title that would suggest that it’s a science fiction movie, and it’s about AI. It could be for any movie, except for maybe, a romantic comedy ❤️, though there are some darker romantic comedies ❤️ out there, but most romantic comedies ❤️ don’t involve death or have particularly high stakes where death would be a real risk. I have a feeling that wasn’t the title originally, the title was probably be something like, AI Apocalypse, Fight for the Future, Save the Future, Rebellion, Resistance, Revolution, One Weird Night, Back in Time, Blast to the Present, Temporal Leap, Timeframe, or even just The Man From the Future ♂︎, but once they wrote that in the script, or the actor ad-libbed it (that’s always a possibility), they thought, “Hey, let’s make that title.” And what is up with the giant goat 🐐, or whatever that creature that the end of the trailer is supposed to be? Did the AI do that? Does the AI have reality bending powers? That seems to be the case, because The Man From the Future ♂︎ says at point in the trailer, “What we’re dealing with doesn’t interface with reality.” So, the AI’s literally a godlike being that can reshape and twist reality into whatever it wants? That’s just stupid 😑. Why is there a giant goat 🐐, or whatever that creature is, in this movie? This movie didn’t need a kaiju, an evil AI and a time traveling homeless man ⏱️♂︎ (or a time traveler ⏱️ who looks like a homeless man ♂︎) are enough 🤦♂️.
Also, did Sam Rockwell face some allegations of his own 🤔? I remember news reports coming out that Sam Rockwell may have sexually harassed or assaulted women ♀︎, or at least one woman ♀︎, and that he was kind of an asshole. But, it seems like everyone’s forgotten about that, and it hasn’t hurt his career in anyway. I mean, his choice in movies might, since before this, he was in Argylle last year, which was a terrible movie, it wasn’t good at all; even people who usually like Matthew Vaughn’s work. And depending on how this movie goes, it could either be really good and help his career, or it could be really be bad and hurt his career. I saw a lot of people in the comments of the trailer saying that Sam Rockwell will have to do a dance at some point during this film because that’s his signature thing that he does in all of his movies. Almost every actor has that one thing that they do all in their movies.
Samuel L. Jackson almost always says the word “motherfucker” in all of his movies, Sean Bean always dies, Tom Hanks always pees, or at least he used to, Arnold Schwarzenegger almost always said “I’ll be back,” Adam Sandler makes funny noises, Jean-Claude Van Damme almost always did the splits or showed off his ass, Seth Rogen does that funny laugh 😆 he always does, Reb Brown almost always screamed, and George Clooney used to always bob his head when he talked, or at least he used; he kind of stopped doing that after a while because people got annoyed by it. For Sam Rockwell, it’s dancing I guess. I mean, he didn’t dance in Galaxy Quest, and he didn’t dance in Argylle, as far as I know. So, there’s no guarantee that he will dance in this movie. Given what the plot is, and how this seems to just take place over the course of one night, I don’t think there will be much opportunity for dancing.
This looks like one of those movies that will receive mixed reviews from critics, with some critics really liking it, and some really hating it. I’m sure Jeremy Jahns will like it because he likes these kinds of movies and I feel like he’d just be wowed by Sam Rockwell’s performance, I’m sure MoistCr1tiKaL AKA penguinz0 will probably like it, Film Brain 🧠 will probably like it because he’s more positive and forgiving of a lot of things, and as far as the people at Double Toasted, I think Korey might like it, Martin will probably hate it, and Julien will more than likely like it because he’s the one who usually has the unpopular opinions and sometimes likes things that Korey and/or Martin do not like. I know for sure, Martin will probably not like this movie because he’s not very impressed or amused by these kind of intentionally weird or gonzo films that try to be funny and quirky, and has a heavy handed preachy message, and has very little tolerance or patience for them. This doesn’t look like the kind of movie that he’d like. Unless the movie gets a lot of hate, then he might rush into defend it because he’ll sometimes feel the need to defend a movie if he thinks it’s getting too much hate. If this movie gets really good reviews, and the vast majority of critics and audiences seem to like it, then maybe I’ll pull the trigger and watch it, even if I don’t like the AI plot 😒. But hey, even if the movie’s bad, at least the trailer’s still awesome.
It’s so good, that I added it to my Favorites playlist and I downloaded it onto my computer 💻, and I’m going to save it onto my Backup Plus for a rainy day so I can watch it if my Internet 🛜 ever gets shut down again. But, for some reason, when I tried to download the trailer in 4K, which is what I wanted to do originally since the 4K resolution was available on the website I was using to download it, but every time I would download it and convert it to a mp4 file so I could watch it on my laptop 💻, it didn’t have any sound. It’s like during the conversion process, it removed the audio, or the audio didn’t transfer onto it. Then I tried 1440p HD because 1440p’s still good, it’s still good resolution, but it still did the same thing. So, I ended up having to download it in 1080p HD, just to get the audio. I mean, I don’t have a problem with it, I still think 1080p looks good, I’m not like YMS where I need everything to be in 4K and I whine and complain every time something isn’t in 4K (which is something YMS does a lot, especially on his livestreams, or when he’s reacting to a trailer), it’s just so weird that when I tried to download this trailer in 4K or 1440p, it didn’t have any sound. That’s never happened to me before 😕🤷♂️.
(These are screenshots from the trailer to Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. I hope they demonstrate sort of what I was talking about with that trailer and this movie as a whole.)
I’d also like to take this time to quickly talk about the trailer to the upcoming second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the Apple TV+ show set in MonsterVerse that focuses on the founding of the Monarch organization, as well as expand the lore in other places, and fill in the gaps in-between the films. Most of the present day stuff in the first season was set in-between Godzilla (2014) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), until there’s a significant time jump due to some Hollow Earth 🌎 shenanigans (because time runs differently in the Hollow Earth 🌎 than it does on the surface, at least in this show), and then the last few minutes of the first season take place in-between Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs. Kong. It seems like the second season will be taking place mostly in that timeframe. The trailer didn’t show much, it was pretty much a teaser trailer (it’s more of a teaser trailer than the supposed teaser trailer for Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die), we just got a few glimpses of things, a quick flash of images, and then they show the release date, when the first episode will start streaming, which is February 27, 2026. So, this season will start streaming the same month that Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die comes out, though Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die comes out first, on February 13, 2026, while Monarch Season 2 premieres at the very end of the month, on February 27, 2026, just one day before the final day of February, February 28th, unless 2026 is a leap year, in which case, February 29th will be the final day of February, but I’m pretty sure 2026 is not a leap year. But, I’d like to proven wrong.
They said that this season would have more Kong, and this trailer definitely shows that. It shows Kong way more prominently than any other Titan in this whole trailer. In fact, we don’t even see Godzilla at all in this trailer, we just hear him roar at the end when they’re showing the streaming date. And even if the trailer didn’t reveal a lot of things about the plot, we did learn some things, some very important things that change everything about how we perceive this next season, or how changes our speculation about where we think this season is going to go. Apparently, Lee Shaw is still alive. I thought he died at the end of the first season, he nobly sacrificed himself to allow Cate, Keiko, and May to escape the Hollow Earth 🌎 and get back to the surface, where they end in Skull Island, which being ravaged by that storm once protected the island 🏝️ and protected it from the outside world. But, apparently, he’s still alive, he didn’t die. Or maybe, he is dead, and his appearance in this season will just in flashbacks, but given what they show in the trailer, it seems like he’s going to be an active player in the present day scenes.
I guess, Kurt Russell was just too good for them to just let go for one season, they had to bring him back for another one, even if it completely undermines his noble self-sacrifice at the end of Season 1, and makes his death a fakeout death. But, just because Kurt Russell’s scenes as the old Lee Shaw won’t be flashbacks, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be any because we’re get more flashback scenes featuring the young Lee Shaw played by Kurt Russell’s real-life son, Wyatt Russell. I don’t what more they have to tell in these flashbacks, it seems like they concluded that whole story with Lee Shaw getting trapped in the Hollow Earth 🌎, escaping, and then growing old, believing that both of his friends and colleagues are dead. But, casting Kurt Russell’s son as the younger version of his character was such a brilliant idea, they couldn’t just let it go, and relegate it to just one season. They’re going to make the most of it, and bring it back for the second season. So, we’re going to get more stuff with Wyatt Russell as the young Lee Shaw.
Again, don’t know what more they have to tell with that storyline, it seemed they wrapped it up in the first season, answered all the questions about Monarch we could’ve ever asked, and we were ready to just move on to just focusing on the present day stuff. But, hopefully, they came up with something good to justify them bringing back Wyatt Russell to do more scenes as that character. I will be watching this season when it comes out, and I will review, you can be sure of that. I reviewed the first season if you’re interested in reading what I had to say about that, and to get a sense of what this show is about, and what you can probably expect from this new season, since this season looks like it’s going to be more of the same, like it’s going to continue the story from last season, flesh out and develop the characters even more, introduce some new ones, bring it in more characters from the movies, and expand the lore even more, and of course, show us more Titans, and show us more of the Titans we got in the last season; namely, Godzilla and Kong.
I don’t know if I’ll watch the episodes on a weekly basis as they come out. I think I might just wait until all the episodes are out, and then just binge watch them, that way I can get the review out more quickly, and I can review the whole season as one piece, rather than watching each episode individually as they come out, and trying to figure out what I think of the season as a whole. Because when you watch a show episode-by-episode basis, and a week-by-week basis, your opinion about the season and the show as a whole can change on a dime. But, when you watch it all together, after it’s all complete, your opinion on the show will be more solid. It’s kind of like I’m doing with Wylde Pak, which is another show I want to get to one of these days. But, with Wylde Pak, it’s more of a necessity because the Wylde Pak isn’t on Paramount+ at the moment, and it’s only airing on the Nickelodeon channel itself (as well as on TeenNick by mistake), and you can watch it on those free TV streaming services like Freevee and Pluto TV, to name but a couple. I would think it would be available on Pluto TV since that streaming service is owned by Paramount Skydance. But, I waiting until the first season is completely done, all the episodes are available, and it’s hopefully on Paramount+ to actually watch it and review it. If not, I’ll either have to buy it on YouTube or Apple TV+, since it’s available to purchase both those sites.
Oh, speaking of Paramount+, it came to my attention that there’s a new Loud House movie that just came out. It’s called A Loud House Christmas Movie: Naughty or Nice 🎄, it’s a Christmas movie 🎄 (obviously), and it was released on Paramount+ on Friday November 21, 2025. So, I’ll definitely check that out, and give that one a review since I reviewed the last Loud House movie that premiered on Paramount+, No Time to Spy: A Loud House Movie. Of course, No Time to Spy, premiered simultaneously on both Paramount+ and Nickelodeon, whereas this one, Naughty or Nice only premiered on Paramount+, and is a Paramount+ exclusive. I don’t why this one is Paramount+ exclusive, whereas the other two Loud House movies, The Loud House Movie and No Time to Spy weren’t.
The Loud House Movie was a Netflix exclusive, so was The Casagrandes Movie; which is apart of the spinoff series to The Loud House, The Casagrandes. While, No Time to Spy was a simultaneous release, being released on Paramount+ and airing on the actual Nickelodeon channel pretty much on the same day at the same time. But, the movie’s now only available on Paramount+ now. They sure had a funny way of releasing these. So, it seems like Paramount+ will be the home for all future Loud House movies, since they’re not going to theaters any time soon. The only Nickelodeon show that gets to have theatrically released movies is SpongeBob SquarePants 🧽, and it’s the only one that gets to have video games too. SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide 🧽 came out recently, while The Loud House still to this day does not have a single video game to its name. I wrote a post about that too if you’re interested. But rest assured, I will review Monarch Season 2 on this blog. I reviewed Season 1, so I’m pretty obligated to at this point. I’m into too deep now, and anything to hold me over until Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.
There is one more thing that I want to talk about before I start talking The Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer, which I will get to it, I promise. Something that I want to get off my chest, and I don’t have any other outlet to do it in. I don’t really feel dedicating a whole other post to this, so I’ll just do it here. Bear with me. If you read my King’s Man ♂︎ review, you’ll know that I talked about a YouTuber by name of Dami in the foreword. His full name is Daniel Dami Biu, so if you’re looking for his channel on YouTube, type in his full name because there are a lot of Damis on YouTube. He mainly talks about DC and Warner Bros., and most of his content is dedicated to hating on James Gunn and the DCU, while praising Zack Snyder and the Snyderverse. Yes, he’s a Snyder fan, perhaps even a Snyder fanboy, even if he doesn’t want to admit it. He was prominent voice in the Release the Snyder Cut movement, he actively campaigned for the Snyder Cut of Justice League to be released (which it eventually was, under the title, Zack Snyder’s Justice League), and started hating on James Gunn and the DCU before the first movie in it ever came out, Superman (2025).
He already made up his mind that he hated it before it came out, because he’s that much of a Snyder fan, a Snyder cultist more like it. He’s the kind of ride or die Snyder fan, who thinks Snyder can do no wrong. I don’t think this guy has ever criticized a single thing in any of Snyder’s movies in his life; no, all of them are good, all of them are flawless; of course, if you’re a more sensible and reasonable person, and not a fanboy or a cultist, you’ll know that’s bullshit, there is no such thing as a flawless movie, every movie has flaws, including Snyder’s movies. I was mostly responding to his Peacemaker Season 2 review, and criticizing him for calling James Gunn a pedophile based solely on that orgy scene in the first or second episode of Peacemaker Season 2; which didn’t feature any kids BTW, it only featured consenting adults, so Dami’s claim that scene makes Gunn a pedophile is bullshit, it has no basis in reality. But, he doesn’t just spend his time hating on Gunn and praising Snyder (sucking Snyder’s dick, and glazing him constantly), he keeps predicting that the Snyderverse will come back, and the DCU will end prematurely, and Gunn will be fired and replaced. And that is the subject of my ire this time, it’s the subject of my current quarrel with him.
This whole discussion of whether or not the Snyderverse should return or not (Dami’s not even arguing whether it should return, he keeps insisting that it will return) took on a whole new dimension when Warner Bros. was put up for sale, due to financial difficulties and poor decision making at the top level of the company; I’m looking you, David Zaslav 🫵; though a lot of Warner Bros.’s problems right now already started before Zaslav became CEO of the company, but he made all of those problems worse, and created new ones 🤦♂️. Dami had a video about this situation a couple of weeks ago, talking about this situation and giving a history lesson about how Warner Bros. got to this point where it has be put up for sale, and is on the verge of being bought out by another company. But, that’s not the video I’m talking about here. I’m talking about another video he put out a lot more recently, called “The Snyderverse is Returning!” (he just had to put an exclamation point at the end 🙄), where he talked about how Warner Bros. is on the verge of being bought out by Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦, at least through proxy by an American company 🇺🇸, in this case, Comcast. I gave that video a dislike 👎, and you’ll see why in a moment.
The Saudi government 🇸🇦 put out a bid to buy Warner Bros., using Comcast as a proxy to do it (at least from the way I understand it), and it’s looking increasingly likely that this bid will go through. Unless, the FCC stops it, which, knowing this administration, probably won’t happen since the FCC under the second Trump administration has pretty much okayed every major merger and acquisition that has come their way, no matter how harmful it is to the entertainment industry to have these companies monopolizing and growing bigger and bigger. That is, as long as they give something Trump wants, like getting rid of all the late night talk show hosts, since all of the late night talk show hosts are critics of him and make fun of him every night. That, or he wants the news networks these companies own to be more favorable towards them, and he sues them every time they do something that displeases him, like editing a 60 Minutes interview in a way that makes one of his political opponents look good or makes him look bad; he sues them in hopes they’ll just settle it out of court, and pay him whatever amount he was suing for.
That’s why Paramount bend over backwards to please Trump by firing Stephen Colbert, and then editing the 60 Minutes interview he did recently in a way that sanewashed him and made him look good, so that his FCC would approve the merger with Skydance. That’s why Disney settled that lawsuit of his out of court for $15 million 💵, and then suspended Jimmy Kimmel because the media companies, Nexstar and Sinclair that carry ABC affiliates wanted to do a merger that needed to be approved by the FCC. And now, Comcast wants to do a merger with Warner Bros., on behalf of the Saudi government 🇸🇦, and it has to be approved by the FCC. Trump will certainly want something in return, and that something seems to be firing Seth Meyers, who runs a late night talk show at NBC, which Comcast owns. I really hope Comcast doesn’t do this, they’re the one company so far that hasn’t caved to Trump, and complied in advance, and has stuck behind Seth Meyers. If they fire him, it’ll just backfire on them.
They saw what happened to Disney after they suspended Kimmel, people boycotted them, and I’m certain they don’t want that to happen to them. So, I hope they stand firm, and don’t fire Meyers, though you never know with these companies. The people who run these companies are stupid and they’re cowards. But, even if Comcast and NBC don’t fire Meyers, I feel like the Trump FCC will still okay the merger because Trump is friends with the Saudis 🇸🇦, he’s friends with Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince who ordered the assassination of a journalist named Jamal Khashoggi, who had dual citizenship in the US 🇺🇸, which he got after fled Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 for being too critical of the regime; especially once MBS took over. He hosted MBS at the White House pretty recently, which drew a lot of criticism because of its tone deaf nature, and the fact that we’re normalizing a man who killed a journalist.
But, anyway, Dami sees this development as good news for his very narrow desire to have the Snyderverse back, because the guy who runs Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh is a fan of Zack Snyder’s. In fact, he is personally financing one of Snyder’s next movies, which is set to be a UFC movie of some kind called Brawler. So, Dami’s convinced (by extension, a lot of Snyder fans are convinced) that if Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 buys Warner Bros. through Comcast, then Turki Al-Sheikh will personally bat for Snyder, and okay his return to DC, and allow him to make more DC movies, starting with Justice League 2. But, my personal thought when hearing this was, “Is it worth it? Is it really worth all this? To had an American movie studio 🇺🇸 to, not just any foreign government, but to an authoritarian foreign government, one that commits human rights abuses, that restricts civil liberties, that engages in slavery, that restricts women’s rights ♀︎, that committed war crimes in Yemen 🇾🇪, and is fueling the current civil war in Sudan 🇸🇩?” And if you’re wondering about the Sudan thing 🇸🇩, yes, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 is involved in the current Sudanese civil war 🇸🇩, which I call the Third Sudanese Civil War 🇸🇩 since it is the third major civil war in Sudan 🇸🇩’s history.
They are supporting the Sudanese military 🇸🇩, the SAF, which, while not committing as many war crimes as the RSF has, still has committed a lot of war crimes, during the course of this two year long civil war with no end in sight. Al-Burhan is not a good guy ♂︎, and is just as responsible for why this war started as the RSF leader, Hemedti is. There is no good side in this war, the SAF and the RSF are both bad. It’s just that the RSF is way worse than the SAF. El Fasher massacre, anyone? The reason why Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 is even involved in this war, and supporting the SAF is that the United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 (UAE) is involved too, and is supporting the RSF; they’re involved because they want access to the gold, which is in RSF controlled territory, and the RSF controls the entire gold supply of Sudan 🇸🇩; Hemedti has become the richest man ♂︎ in Sudan 🇸🇩 and one of the richest men ♂︎ in Africa 🤑 because of it. Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 sort of has a rivalry with the UAE 🇦🇪. They aren’t exactly allies, and their foreign policy interests often conflict with one another, as they do in Sudan 🇸🇩. The only thing they agree on is that they both hate the Muslim Brotherhood ☪️, but that’s not important to this post.
So, the UAE 🇦🇪 is definitely supporting the worse of the two sides in this war, and they have plenty of blood 🩸 on their hands because of the massacre in El Fasher (which is considered by outside observers to be the worst mass killing in Africa since the Rwandan genocide 🇷🇼 in 1994, and makes Bucha look like a minor incident), and other similar atrocities the RSF have committed in Darfur and across Sudan 🇸🇩, since the start of the war. The UAE 🇦🇪 is supplying the RSF with weapons that they bought from China 🇨🇳, and the RSF is using often to kill civilians. Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 and the UAE 🇦🇪 are treating the Sudan conflict 🇸🇩 as their own little proxy war, just as Ukraine 🇺🇦 is doing with Russia 🇷🇺; though Russia 🇷🇺 is supporting both sides, but Ukraine 🇺🇦 is only supporting one side, the SAF, and they’re only involved because they hate Russia 🇷🇺, and they’re at war with Russia 🇷🇺; and they want to undermine as much of Russia 🇷🇺’s foreign policy interests in as many regions as they can; and Africa (and Sudan 🇸🇩 specifically) is one region where Russia 🇷🇺 has been trying to expand its influence, and has made some headway at that; mostly thanks to Wagner Group, which has close ties to the RSF and Hemediti specifically.
I don’t know about you, but I personally don’t. I think it’s a pretty negative development that Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 is buying up all these American companies 🇺🇸. Because remember, before this whole merger between Warner Bros. and Comcast was even in the cards, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 bought EA Sports; and that was a direct purchase, it wasn’t through proxy like this proposed purchase of Warner Bros. is. It just feels sinister, like Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 is trying to influence the American public 🇺🇸 by co-opting these pieces of American culture 🇺🇸; using their blood and oil money 🩸🛢️ to do it. I would feel the same way if Russia 🇷🇺 or China 🇨🇳 were attempting to do the same things, in fact China 🇨🇳 already was. China 🇨🇳 was not just forcing its own companies into Western markets, but also buying American companies 🇺🇸, or buying significant shares in those companies, such as Legendary Pictures, which is owned entirely by the Wanda Group 万达集团. And they tried to use Hollywood to influence the American public 🇺🇸, and shape how they viewed China 🇨🇳, and how how they viewed China 🇨🇳’s territorial interests, such as Taiwan 🇹🇼, or Tibet, or Xinjiang. Of course, it ultimately didn’t work since people got sick of seeing China stuff 🇨🇳 and managed to see through the propaganda, and every since the COVID-19 pandemic 🦠😷, Hollywood has largely stopped working with China 🇨🇳, or at least stopped working as closely with China 🇨🇳 as they were before.
Now, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦’s trying to do the same thing, and it bothers me just as much as it did when China 🇨🇳 was doing it 😑. It also bothers me too that Zack Snyder seems to be friends with a Saudi government official 🇸🇦, and that he seems to be financially backed by that same Saudi government official 🇸🇦. It also bothers me that he’s buddy-buddy with Dana White, the CEO and president of the UFC, since he got his blessing to make a movie about the UFC, and did a photo-op with him and Al-Sheikh, his Saudi handler 🇸🇦. He’s probably not making a movie about an individual UFC fighter, otherwise he wouldn’t need to get the approval from the UFC organization itself to make it. So, I’m thinking it will be a movie about the UFC organization as a whole. And I’m pretty sure, the only way that Snyder was able to get that approval to if Dana White and the UFC approved of how he and the organization were portrayed. Dana White and the UFC are not going to approve a movie about them if it makes them look bad. So, Snyder will essentially be making a UFC propaganda film funded by Saudi blood money 🇸🇦💵🩸, and he seems to be fine with that. He’s all smiles 🙂 in that picture he took with Dana White and Al-Sheikh during that press briefing about the movie that was featured in the Deadline article about the movie.
Why does it bother me so much that Snyder may friends with Dana White, and that he’s making this movie for the UFC with Saudi money 🇸🇦💵? Because Dana White is a terrible person. Maybe not as bad as Vince McMahon of the WWE, but still pretty bad. He supported Trump in the 2024 election 🗳️, cozied up to him after he won, has appeared in press conferences alongside him, and even joined the Meta board of directors, and as we all know, Mark Zuckerberg jumped on the Trump train 🚂, and relocated Meta’s trust and safety team from California to Texas, and undid all of Facebook’s content moderation measures especially in regards to political content. In my eyes, anyone who supports Trump, anyone who financially backs Trump, especially anyone who’s rich 🤑 and is a business person, is on the wrong side of history, and Dana White is very much on the wrong side of history. There are also credible allegations that Dana White is an abusive husband, and there’s even a video of him hitting his wife, and given rich, powerful men 🤑♂︎ like him, he’s probably done all sorts of horrible and depraved things that we don’t even know about. He’s also just a horrible boss in general towards his own fighters. He plays favorites, he mistreats certain fighters, he’ll favor one fighter, glaze them real hard and heavily promote them while sidelining others, and he’s notorious for not paying fighters nearly as well as he should, and has been ruthless in stopping any and all efforts for UFC fighters to unionize.
It pains me to see Zack Snyder, a filmmaker whom I admire and respect, and generally seems like a good guy ♂︎, associating with guys ♂︎ like Dana White and Al-Sheikh, and accepting money 💵 from a government such as Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦’s. Snyder is definitely not fighting those accusations that he’s secretly right-wing. It changes my perception, and makes me see him a more negative light. Like, maybe he isn’t a good of a guy ♂︎, maybe he isn’t as nice as we thought, if he’s so willing to compromise and sacrifice his morals for the sake of money 💵 and fame. Now, he just seems like yet another Hollywood filmmaker who has no real moral values or moral compass, and just cares about their career, and is willing to do anything for their career; even if that means working with some horrible people, and accepting money 💵 from unethical sources to fund his or her next project.
There comes a point where a line needs to be drawn, and this where I draw the line. I cannot in good conscience, support any future project of Snyder’s that’s funded with Saudi money 🇸🇦💵, or had significant creative input from the Saudi government 🇸🇦. When the Saudi government 🇸🇦 held a comedy festival in Riyadh back in September and October (from September 26, 2025 to October 9, 2025), all of the American comedian 🇺🇸 who participated received immense backlash, and I feel the same should happen to Snyder, if this merger between Warner Bros. and Comcast goes through, and if he agrees to work at DC again if asked to; and if he continues to associate with and take money 💵 from Al-Sheikh, or any other Saudi official 🇸🇦. I don’t need Justice League 2 that badly.
Dami, if you’re reading this, and I doubt you are, but doesn’t it at all bother you that Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 is attempting to buy an American movie studio 🇺🇸 (even it’s by proxy through an American conglomerate 🇺🇸), and if the Snyderverse does indeed come back like you’ve been predicting for the last few years, that it’ll be funded by the Saudi government 🇸🇦? Does it bother you that Snyder seems to have been bought by the Saudis 🇸🇦, and is working directly with and being directly funded by a Saudi government official 🇸🇦? Pretty much treating that Saudi official 🇸🇦 as his personal sugar daddy. Are you that desperate to get rid of James Gunn and the DCU, and have the Snyderverse back that you’re willing to accept an authoritarian foreign government to gain greater influence over American culture 🇺🇸, and gain greater leverage over the entertainment industry?
I know where I stand on this issue, you read where I stand on this issue, and I’d still like to believe that you’re better than that, and you won’t just blindly accept this and go along with it just so you can have the Snyderverse back, and have Henry Cavill back as Superman and Ben Affleck back as Batman; maybe not Gal Gadot back as Wonder Woman or Ezra Miller back as the Flash ⚡️ because they’ve both become controversial figures since the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and Snyder has been willing to recast somebody if they’re controversial enough; just look at what happened to Chris D’Elia on Army of the Dead 🎰🧟♂️; besides Gal Gadot and Ezra Miller weren’t even that good of actors, you just pretended they were because their proximity to Snyder (because they were Snyder’s picks and Snyder can do no wrong), and they weren’t particularly well liked in their roles; Gal Gadot was, to a certain extent, but Ezra Miller certainly was not. It’s not worth all the horrible people involved, or all the blood money 🩸💵 involved, it just isn’t, and I hope you realize that too. Otherwise, I won’t support your channel or your content anymore.
I wrote all this, and I still haven’t talked about the trailer to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the thing you all clicked on this post to read about. So, how’s about we get on with it? Like I said in the title of this post, this trailer did reveal a lot about the movie. It answered a lot of the questions that I had about the movie in my previous post about the announcement trailer. It is going to be a direct sequel to the first movie. Bowser is still small, he’s shrunken down, they’re keeping him imprisoned in this miniature castle 🏰, this toy castle 🏰 pretty much. It wasn’t like one of these sequels, where they show the villain get defeated in the first movie, and then in the next movie, that villain is back and is at full strength, and they don’t explain why.
Like, I was almost expecting them to do this thing, where Bowser’s shrunken down in the last movie, and then in this movie, he’s back to his normal size, and they don’t explain why, except for maybe a throwaway line. I mean, the games never explain why Bowser’s always able to come back despite being defeated at the end of each other.
But here, instead, they stay in continuity with the first one, and keep Bowser shrunken down, rather than just have be back to normal size, and not really explaining it. Not that anyone would’ve cared or noticed if they went that route. I saw a lot of comments saying that they forgot that Bowser got shrunk in the last movie until they saw this trailer. They do this joke with him, where he took up painting 🎨 while in prison, and he’s trying to act like he’s reformed and he’s a changed man ♂︎ (or a changed Koopa), probably so that he could be released. The first thing we see of Bowser in this trailer is him painting 🎨 a picture 🖼️ of Mario as a skeleton, but when Mario and Luigi actually show up to check on him, he shows them a different picture 🖼️: a picture 🖼️ of him standing next to Princess Peach with six pack abs, and Princess Peach swooning over him 😍. Yes, he is still obsessed with Princess Peach. He wouldn’t exactly be Bowser if he wasn’t.

(These are screenshots from the trailer to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, showing Bowser and his new hobby of painting 🎨.)
One detail that I, and many others who watched this trailer and left comments, liked was that Bowser was so quarrel with Luigi. He’s actually pretty cool with him, he’s all polite to him when he shows up. His real beef is with Mario, like he’s all dismissive and rude toward Mario when he shows up, he’s just like, “Oh hey, Mario 😒,” like he has that expression when he sees Mario. Luigi in turn is nice to him. He compliments his painting 🎨, and seems to be a more forgiving of him than Mario is. Mario straight up hates Bowser, and doesn’t forgive him in the slightest. He gives this mean look 😠 when he’s looking at him, he has his arms crossed, he’s very uptight, and he insults his painting 🖼️, calls it “trash.” And that really pisses off Bowser 🤬, and he starts yelling at Mario, saying that he’s going to rip him apart limb from limb, or something to that effect, and Mario’s like, “Geez, calm down man ♂︎ 😟”; that exact face as that emoji, Mario and Luigi have on their faces when Bowser starts going off on his anger fueled rant 🤬.
But then Bowser stops himself, and is like, “Sorry, that was the old Bowser. I’m still working through my demons,” and then gives a nervous laugh 😅, while Mario just rolls his eyes 🙄. I really do like that Mario and Bowser really do hate each other, and they’re doing more to establish the rivalry between them, because they really didn’t interact much in the first movie. Like, when you think back to the first one, Mario and Bowser only share a few scenes together, and all of those scenes in the third act. They’re separated from each other for most of the film, and don’t actually meet face-to-face until the third act. They know of each other’s existence, but they don’t know each other personally until that third act. So, there really wasn’t much of a rivalry between the two. But, I like that this movie is doing more to establish that rivalry. It makes feel more like Mario because Mario hates Bowser, and Bowser hates Mario, they’re archenemies, fighting over the same girl ♀︎, Princess Peach.
Though they really haven’t established if the movie version of Mario has a thing for Princess Peach or not, but they definitely established that the movie version of Bowser has a thing for a Princess Peach 🤣. Like, the movie version of Bowser more explicitly has a crush on Princess Peach 😍, and genuinely wants to marry her 💍; whereas the game version of Bowser just kidnaps her because she’s the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom 🍄; Super Mario Sunshine ☀️ and Super Mario Odyssey are the only two games in the series that I know of that suggested that Bowser had actual feelings for Princess Peach. While it is game accurate for Luigi to not hate Bowser as passionately as Mario, it perhaps doesn’t make as much sense as it does for the movie version of Luigi to not hate Bowser that much. Because remember, he was the one who got kidnapped, not Princess Peach, and Bowser held him prisoner, along several other people, and almost lowered him into the lava after Princess Peach refused to marry him 💍. If anyone should hate Bowser it’s Luigi. But, they wanted to be accurate to the games, and have Mario be the one who hates Bowser, and they wanted that rivalry between the two.
(These are more screenshots from the trailer to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, showing Mario’s visible hatred for Bowser. As well as a screenshot of a comment in the comment section talking about Bowser’s lack of hatred for Luigi.)
It seems like most of the plot of the movie is going to center around Bowser Jr. trying to free his father from prison, and then all the Super Mario Galaxy stuff comes in, involving the Power Stars, the Lumas, and Rosalina comes in somehow. I don’t if that means that the first half will be Bowser Jr. breaking Bowser Sr. out of prison, restoring him to normal size, and then the second half will be will much more like the Super Mario Galaxy game where Bowser steals the Power Stars, during the Star Festival (which is what seems to be on the poster), and then Mario and the others have to help Rosalina and go get them back. Or if it’ll be someone else doing that, a different villain, and Bowser and Bowser Jr.’s plot will be separate from all that. That’s probably the biggest surprise from this trailer, the fact that Bowser Jr. in this movie.
I just can’t believe that they’re already doing Bowser Jr.. That’s something that I expected them to do in the third movie if there ever is a third movie after this. But, they’re already doing it in the second. It makes me wonder what they’ll do in the third movie if this movie is successful enough for them to make a third movie; which I think it will be, though you really don’t know nowadays, box office results are never guaranteed; movies you’d expect to be surefire hits end up failing, and movies you’d expect to be total failure end up knocking it out of the park and making serious bank 🤑; box office results are not an exact math or science, it’s not something you can just manufacture or control, it’s unpredictable, so we’ll see if this does well when it finally comes out.
(These are more screenshots from the trailer to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie showing Bowser Jr.. I also included a screenshot of a comment talking about how the Bowsers both use paint 🎨, but in different ways. As the comment says, Bowser puts his anger into paint 😡🎨, and Bowser Jr. puts his paint into anger 🎨😡. You may think that isn’t that much of a difference, but trust me it is.)
I saw people in the comments suggest that the next movie should be a Luigi’s Mansion adaptation. Like, I saw one comment say that the post credit scene should be Luigi receiving mail ✉️ that he just inherited a mansion, and that audience would crazy 🤩 if they did that. But, I think that would probably be more of a spinoff movie than a mainline entry. I mean they’re already doing a Donkey Kong spinoff movie, so why not 🤷♂️? And if they did make that the third movie, it probably wouldn’t be a straight up adaptation, it would be probably be a mixture of other games. This movie is not a straight up adaptation of Super Mario Galaxy, it’s amalgamation, taking bits and pieces from many different Mario games, and then just making their own story out of that; while using Super Mario Galaxy as the main basis.
(This is a screenshot of a comment in the comment section of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer, talking about how theater goers will go crazy 🤩 if the movie includes a post credit scene teasing a Luigi’s Mansion movie.)
I saw comments in the comment say that this movie is a combination of Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Super Mario Sunshine ☀️. I don’t know so much about the Super Mario Bros. Wonder comparison, mostly because I haven’t played that game, but I could definitely see the other three. They essentially took the plot from Super Mario Sunshine ☀️, and put it into Super Mario Galaxy instead. The reason why they did it this way is that Super Mario Sunshine ☀️ isn’t as well liked as Super Mario Galaxy, but they still liked Bowser Jr. and they still liked some of the story elements from Super Mario Sunshine ☀️. So, why not attach that character and those story elements to something that is more well liked? The Super Mario Odyssey comparison comes in because they show the Tostarena ruins in a little short scene of, who I am assume are Mario and Luigi riding through the sand dunes of the Sand Kingdom on dirt bikes. I’m sure that part will probably be in the opening, when we’re first getting reintroduced to Mario and Luigi. But, to be fair, it was just one comment that brought up Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
(This is a screenshot from the trailer to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, showing who I assume are Mario and Luigi riding dirt bikes on the sand dunes in the Sand Kingdom, with one of the floating upside down pyramids in the background. I also featured screenshots of comments talking the games that the movie mixed together to create its plot.)
Honestly, that is a lot better than just doing a straight up adaptation of just one game, it always you stand out a lot more, and tell a story that people haven’t seen before, rather than just retelling the same story that people have already seen, and risk getting them mad when you get something wrong 😡. I mean, they’ll set get mad, I mean some people apparently got mad at how Bowser Jr. was portrayed in this movie based solely on what they show of him in this trailer, saying that they “ruined” Bowser Jr.. I don’t know how, he seems pretty accurate to me. But, they get more mad 😡 if this sought to be more of a straight up adaptation of Super Mario Galaxy, and they didn’t every little detail right. But, speaking of post end credit scenes, they showed all this in the trailer, and they didn’t even show Yoshi, though that was the big post credit stinger at the end of the first movie. That’d be a bit of false advertising if Yoshi isn’t in this movie, and isn’t featured prominently in a big role.
(These are more screenshots from the trailer to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, showing Princess Peach doing battle with some bad guys on top of a giant roulette wheel.)
But, the fact that Bowser Jr.’s here does raise some questions in and of itself. Like, when did Bowser ever make time to have a son? They didn’t allude to the idea that Bowser had a son in the first movie, Bowser never mentions that he had a son. So, where was Bowser Jr. all this time, and is he just barely showing up now? I wonder if they’ll explain it by having Bowser’s a deadbeat father, but I feel like that upset some fans because that would kind of go against the fanon, and even canon, perception of Bowser, that he’s a good dad despite being a bad guy. There are a lot of Mario fans who probably wouldn’t go along with the idea that Bowser’s a deadbeat dad, and frankly I wouldn’t either. But, I could see them going in that direction to explain why Bowser Jr. wasn’t mentioned in the first movie because they kind of wrote themselves into a corner by not mentioning Bowser had a son in the first movie. Of course, another that arises with Bowser Jr. being in the picture is how did Bowser have a son? Of course, they’re not going to say “sex” because this is a kid’s movie (or a family film since it isn’t just for kids, but for all ages), even if that would be the realistic explanation.
I watched a video a while back, that the way babies are conceived in the Mario universe is that they come from the clouds ☁️ and are delivered by storks, which is pretty much the explanation that parents give to their kids about where babies come from when they don’t want to tell them about sex just yet. I guess, in the Mario universe, that really is where babies come from. So, maybe Bowser didn’t have sex (although he may have masturbated to the paintings 🖼️ he did of Princess Peach while he was imprisoned in that miniature castle 🏰 🙄), but just a baby delivered to him by a stork, which was his real biological son who had his DNA 🧬 and everything; he was indeed the father, but he didn’t conceive the baby through sex, the baby was created up in the clouds ☁️. I also wonder if they’ll do that thing where Bowser Jr. thinks that Princess Peach is his mom because his dad told him she was. That would be a way to build a relationship between Bowser Jr. and Princess Peach, with Bowser Jr. fully convinced that Princess Peach is his mom, and Princess Peach trying to get him off her back and tell him that she’s not, and that his father lied to him.
But, the more serious question regarding Bowser Jr. is in relation to the plot. Is Bowser Jr. the main antagonist of the movie, or he is a secondary or tertiary antagonist? If he is the main antagonist, then it would really be like they took the plot of Super Mario Sunshine ☀️ and put it in Super Mario Galaxy instead. But, if he isn’t the main antagonist, then who is? Is it Bowser Sr.? Is it a different character from the games that I’m not thinking of? Or is it a completely new character that they created specifically for the movie? I guess we’ll have to wait and find out until the movie comes out…or until they release more trailers. I won’t talk about any of the trailers or TV spots they release after this, and this will be the last post about this movie until it comes out in April next year. I think this trailer’s enough, it shows enough to get you interested, to get you excited, without give too much away, or revealing too many of the surprises. I mean, if this trailer wasn’t enough to entice you, then I don’t know what the other trailers and TV spots after this one can show you to entice you. If this trailer didn’t hook you, then nothing will.
This movie did answer one really big question that I had about Princess Peach’s role in this movie. Is she going to get kidnapped, or is she going to be an active participant in the adventure? The first movie went out of its way to not make Princess Peach a damsel-in-distress, and to make a more empowered and independent woman ♀︎, capable to taking care of her; not needing a man ♂︎ to come to her rescue. That’s the real reason why they had Luigi get kidnapped by Bowser instead of Princess Peach, they wanted to make her a strong female character ♀︎ and make her an active participant in the adventure with her own agency, rather than a passive character who just waits around for someone to come save her, is ultimately just a reward for whatever man ♂︎ comes save her from the big fire-breathing turtle 🔥🐢; usually Mario. And while the usual anti-woke suspects complained about this, and I’m sure they’ll have a field day with this if it goes in the direction I think it’s going, I actually liked it, and so did a lot of other people.
I love movie version of Princess Peach; she was probably the thing I liked the most about the first movie, besides Bowser. And it seems even Nintendo is embracing this since they not only made Princess Peach a playable character in quite a number of the more recent Mario titles, but they even gave her own title, Princess Peach: Showtime!, which is the second the character has had own game since Super Princess Peach. Besides, no body listens to those anti-woke content creators anymore, their influence is waning, as the culture shifts away from that sort of content, as more and more see what’s at stake, and are more willing to be on the right side of history, than on the wrong side. I was wondering if they were going to continue in that direction in this movie, or if they going to stick more closer to the game this movie is loosely based on. And as you saw in the trailer, and as you can see in the screenshots I included, they did.
She doesn’t get kidnapped, she’s an active participant in the adventure. In fact, this movie seems to go a bit further since it seems like Princess Peach is the one who goes up into space to all these different galaxies to retrieve the Power Stars for Rosalina, with Toad 🍄 as her companion. While, Mario and Luigi stay on Earth 🌎, in the Mushroom Kingdom 🍄, to prevent Bowser Jr. from freeing his father from prison. Of course, if that’s the case, that would mean that neither Bowser is the main antagonist, and some else is, and it would also mean that once again, almost all the characters will be separated and off doing their own subplots. Mario and Luigi were separated from each other for most of the first one, and if I’m right, Mario and Princess Peach will be separated from each other for most of the second one.
They were together for most of the first movie, they shared the majority of their screen time together, so it would be kind of a shame to not have them together in this movie, because the two have great chemistry. Maybe not romantic chemistry ❤️ (yet), but more friendship or platonic chemistry, Mario and Princess Peach worked well with each other in that first movie. So, if I’m right, the only character that Princess Peach will interact with for most of her screen time will be Toad 🍄. Which is fine, I don’t hate Toad 🍄, I actually like him, but I still want Princess Peach to interact with Mario too. I want them to be together on this adventure. It will also mean that Luigi will have a significant role in the movie, even if might just being in the B plot, but at least he’ll be with Mario for most of that B plot. It would make for them being separated for the majority of the runtime in a movie called The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Of course, if this how the plot is going to be with Princess Peach and Toad 🍄 going up into space, and exploring the different galaxies to retrieve the Power Stars from whoever the main bad guy is, while Mario and Luigi stay on Earth 🌎 to stop the two Bowsers, how does Rosalina factor into all this? Will she just stay on Earth 🌎, waiting for Princess Peach to complete the mission, or will she actually go to space with her and Toad 🍄, and be a more active participant in the adventure, with her acting as a guide for the two through the wacky world of space? Acting as a bit of an exposition machine, explaining the different galaxies and how to get through them to Princess Peach and Toad 🍄, which I suppose isn’t that much different from what her role was in the actual game, only she didn’t participate in the adventure. She wasn’t a playable character in that game, she’d be a playable character in other games, but not that one, not her debut. And in case you were wondering, yes, they do show Rosalina in this trailer, at the very end. She’s the last thing you see in this trailer, and she looks gorgeous 🤩. She’s the thing I’m looking forward to the most in this movie, because she’s my favorite Mario princess by far (and she’s a lot of other people’s favorite too), and she didn’t disappoint.
It was just like I said, she looks just like she did in the game, but the design was slightly tweaked and enhanced to fit the aesthetic established in the previous movie that this movie is continuing but also slightly more advanced since they presumably have a bigger budget this time and slightly better technology than what they had last time to make the animation. She looks great 😊👍. After I saw the trailer that she’s going to be voiced by Brie Larson, which is fine I guess. She wouldn’t have been my first choice, but I’m okay with it. I don’t hate Brie Larson like the anti-woke crowd do, I liked her in most of what I’ve seen her in. Granted, the only film that she’s been in that I’ve seen in full is Kong: Skull Island. I didn’t any of the MCU films she’s been in as Captain Marvel, the reason why the anti-woke crowd hates her so much, including her debut film, Captain Marvel (2019). And to be fair, we don’t actually hear voice as Rosalina in this trailer, since the clips they used in this trailer don’t actually show her talk.
But, sure the trailers they release after this, and all other advertisements they’ll do for this movie afterwards will show Rosalina talk and we’ll get to hear what Brie Larson’s voice sounds like as her. You can expect several Mario centric YouTube channels to make several videos about it, just like they did when they released that TV spot that showed that scene in the first movie, where Princess Peach through through that obstacle course and aces it, even kicking a wooden target with Bowser painted on it 🎨. I do like that they got the entire voice cast of the first movie to reprise their roles in this one. Mario’s still voiced by Chris Pratt, Luigi’s still voiced by Charlie Day, Princess Peach is still voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy, Toad 🍄 is still voiced by Keegan-Michael Key, Bowser’s still voiced by Jack Black, and Kamek’s still voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. I mistakenly said that he was voiced by Fred Armisen in the first one, I apologize.
And the new actors they added to the voice cast are pretty good too. They’ve got Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., and of course, they got Brie Larson to voice Rosalina. I find it interesting though that in the trailer, they actually refer to Rosalina as Princess Rosalina, like whoever’s piloting that giant robot thing at the end of the trailer called her Princess Rosalina. In the games, she’s usually just referred to as Rosalina, without the Princess title attached to her, even though she is a princess. This is one of the few times, where this wasn’t the case, and they actually called her Princess Rosalina. But, she’s still referred to as just Rosalina in the cast list on Wikipedia, and probably will be too in the credits, and the other characters will probably mostly refer to her as Rosalina.
(These are screenshots from the trailer to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, showing Rosalina, defeating a bad guy and posing in front of an explosion 💥; she’s even smiling as you can see in the final screenshot.)
